As we all know, music plays an important role in setting the tone of your wedding.

The size of your wedding, location and budget determine the number of musicians required. Music helps to create the memorable moments on your wedding day. Your preferences for mood and atmosphere will determine your musical selections. You will need to decide if you are going to have a classical pianist during dinner followed by a 7 piece swing band (which may be considered "traditional"), or you may desire a DJ playing the latest and greatest hits (which is within most budgets!).

The music should begin about half an hour before the ceremony, and it is usually just instrumentals. If you are planning to include a vocalist for the ceremony, they should crescendo at the moment that the mother-of-the-bride is escorted to her seat. This signals to the guests that the processional is about to begin.

The choices of music today can be overwhelming. Here are a few things you should discuss with the musician when choosing your music selection:

Type of Band:

  • Ceremony Musical Selections
  • For the Processional
  • For the Bridal Chorus
  • For the Wedding March
  • For the Ceremony
  • For The Recessional
  • First Dance Musical Selections
  • Reception Music
